- Building permit for LDS Church on Daniels road.
The LDS Church has broken ground and started working on the new building. They’ve asked for a temporary water hook-up.
- Witt lot line adjustment
Joe Witt has requested a lot line adjustment on 8 acres of property he bought on 3000 South across from Big Hollow Road. He has purchased the water rights for the property. He wants to build a new home towards the back side of the property but there is an existing old home near the front of the property. Mr. Erickson would like to buy the old home and small property surrounding it to add to his already existing acreage.
Commissioner Weight moved to approve the Witt lot line adjustment as shown in the plans presented with Commissioner Glodowski seconding. The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
- Storage of materials on lots in the Town
A resident of Daniel has a neighbor who is storing several blue barrels of unknown contents on his property and was wondering what the town’s stand is on storage of materials on lots. The town does not regulate or have jurisdiction over storage on property. The resident could ask the Health Department to determine if there are any hazardous contents on his neighbor’s property.
- Daniel Town Planning Director Report
Commissioner Bunker attended an Interlocal Advisory Board meeting in Midway. He gave a brief summary of what was discussed. The main item on their agenda was “Communities that Care”. Communities across the country have a vested interest in making sure that young people develop into healthy productive citizens and avoid behaviors that can jeopardize their own health and well-being and threaten the well-being of their families and neighborhoods as well. Substance abuse and delinquency are prime examples of behaviors that get in the way of positive development. Prevention scientists have drawn on these findings to design programs aimed at preventing youth from getting caught up in delinquency, drug use, and other problem behaviors, and they have evaluated these programs using rigorous scientific criteria. In spite of these advances, tested and effective approaches to help youth develop into productive citizens and avoid problem behaviors have not been used widely in schools and communities, and efforts to establish effective prevention systems have been limited. The Communities That Care (CTC) system was developed to address this gap.
All the municipalities have signed on to use this program in the valley. The school district gives their full support. Donations and volunteers are being sought to help this project.
The other main item on the agenda was a presentation about the roads in the valley.
- Smith Barn
They have a new permit for building a garage with electricity.
- Approval of minutes from 16 May 2012
Chairman Bunker noted a misspelling of the word feels.
Commissioner Hobbs moved to approve the minutes of 16 May 2012 with Commissioner Weight seconding. The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
- Motion to adjourn.
Commissioner Hobbs moved to adjourn the meeting with Commissioner Glodowski seconding. The vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
