Purpose: To assert coordination with federal and state agencies
For the purpose of maintaining pristine drinking and agricultural water

RESOLUTION TO IMPLEMENT COORDINATION BY THE DANIEL TOWN COUNCIL:

WHEREAS, the Daniel Town Council as the duly elected governing body of the Town of Daniel, in our capacity and duty to care for the public safety and health of our constituents, the economic stability of our community, and the sound environment and condition of the ecosystem within the community,

WHEREAS, the Council has found that it is in the best interests of the Town to perform its duties by asserting coordination with federal and state agencies mandated by federal and Utah law,

WHEREAS, federal agencies are mandated to coordinate planning and management actions with local government by statute, including the Federal Land Management and Policy Act, 43 U.S.C 1701 and 43 U.S.C. 1712, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Clean Water Act by regulations and rules implementing those statutes and by Executive Orders directing intergovernmental cooperation and coordination,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Daniel Town Council does hereby assert legal standing as a unit of local government to formally assert its coordination authority with all federal and state agencies maintaining or asserting jurisdiction to alter the source or quality of drinking or agricultural irrigation water utilized within the Town of Daniel,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of Daniel shall cause a copy of the Resolution be transmitted to all appropriate federal and state agencies to begin the coordination process,

ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DANIEL ON THIS THE 1st DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2010 by the following vote.
